In Romans the sixth chapter Paul writes, “How shall we who are dead to sin live any longer therein?” He goes on to declare that “sin shall no longer have dominion over YOU…” He further states that no longer are we to allow sin to reign in our mortal body. No longer are we to obey or be subject to it. No longer are we the servants of sin. “But God be thanked, that you were the servants of sin, but you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered to you. Being made free from sin, you BECAME the servants of righteousness.” (Rm.6:17-18)
There is no “in between land” in which the children of God can serve two masters here on earth. There is no degree of sin that is acceptable to our Father in Heaven. We have been given the great gift of choice. Our Lord calls today to come, follow Me. John writes “If anyone serve Me, let them follow Me; and where I am there shall also My servant be: if anyone serves Me, them will My Father honor.” (John 12:26)
Notice that “follow me” always meant NOW. “Follow Me” also meant Jesus was taking responsibility for that follower, for that disciple. They were protected, they were preserved, and they were provided for daily. All their needs were met according to The Father’s riches in glory while following The Christ Jesus. (Phil.4:19) Follow Jesus and allow The Great Shepherd of your soul to lead and guide you that you might live the life that God has for you right Now, right HERE on earth. Scripture says that we glorify The Father and our Lord Jesus by finishing the work we are given to do. Begin your new life in Him. Trust Him and He’ll meet your needs as surely and completely today as He did when He walked amongst His followers here on earth!
Have a strong year in The Lord, God Bless you. James.
